John Kann is a financial advisor that joined the Virtus team in January of 2016. Since then, he has been overcoming the hurdles that young advisors face by proving his deep and thorough understanding of financial planning, investment and insurance services. His work ethic has already made him stand out in the financial advising community as a young leader who shows strong merit. John has his insurance license, Series 7 and his Series 66 registrations allowing him to provide financial planning to his clients.
“As someone who moved across the country during my high school years due to family medical reasons, I have seen firsthand how quickly and how easily a family’s financial situation can turn upside down. When building financial plans, it is vital that we start from the ground up. We need to make sure that there is an adequate amount of insurance and liquid savings available to take care of the family in the face of an emergency. Once the foundation is set, we can build off that and start to develop a comprehensive plan for the future.”
John studied Finance at the University of Central Florida and graduated with Magna Cum Lauda. During his time there, John served the university as a prominent leader. He worked profusely with the College of Business Administration Deans to help shape his college’s culture and learning environment as Chair of the Ambassador Program. He also served as the Student-at-Large for the UCF Activity and Service Fee Committee where he helped allocate $18,600,000 across university departments and agencies for two consecutive years.
In John’s spare time, he enjoys playing drums, beach volleyball, and indoor soccer. As an outgoing homebody with a creative mind, John is fervently fond of playing dungeons and dragons where he is the game master and storyteller in his group of close friends and family members.
